Successful Employment Strategies |
July 9, 2014 In November 2013, Minnesota launched the Statewide Olmstead Plan. The goal of the plan is to ensure that all Minnesotans with disabilities are living, learning, working and enjoying life in the most integrated setting possible. A main focus of Olmstead is making sure Minnesotans with disabilities have equal access to competitive employment. To help reach this goal, Minnesota’s Education, Human Service, Employment and Economic Development and Human Rights Departments teamed up to create a list of strategies that best support employment for people with disabilities, including mental health disabilities. This list was created by reviewing research and looking at common elements of successful employment and secondary transition. |
