MA-EPD Premiums Are Changing

August 1, 2014

Due to a law passed in 2011, Medical Assistance for Employed Persons with Disabilities (MA-EPD) premiums will change for people age 21 and over on October 1, 2014.

  • The minimum premium will go up from $35 to $65 a month.
  • People who get Social Security benefits (SSDI or SSI) or other unearned income, will go from paying 0.5% to 5% of that money towards their premium.
  • People on MA-EPD will see their new premium amounts on their MA-EPD invoices. They will need to pay their new premium amount by September 15th for October coverage.
  • People can use the DB101 2014 premium tool to see what their new premiums might be.
  • If you have questions or concerns, call Disability Hub MN at 1-866-333-2466.
